Brand build and marketing foundations with an eye on long-term business growth

James McFall, Managing Director of Yield Financial Planning, understands the importance of brand and systems when it comes to laying solid foundations for a business with a clear vision to the future. It was important to James that the Yield brand be markedly different from competitors in the market in support of the ethos and values of what he wanted the business to become. We've developed a simple, yet flexible brand with scope for growth over time, alongside core marketing strategies that helped drive initial growth and have provided a framework for the in-house team to work with going forward.

Logo - Business Card

A professional and polished brand that generates trust and authority

James came to me after getting mediocre logo concepts from one of the freelance designer platforms that didn't provide the professional look his new business needed. He wanted the branding for Yield to break away from the conservative style of his competitors. And he wanted the primary logo to link to the overall brand symbolism for growth, without resorting to cliched graphics.

Due to the completely customised nature of the logo, without the use of icons from image libraries, the logo has since been successfully trademarked, adding to the long-term value of the Yield brand.

Regular Brand Boosts

James understands the value of keeping a brand current — you rarely notice it, but all the big brands tweak their logo every couple of years to prevent them from dating.

We help to give Yield a regular Brand Refresh (using our Clever Day service). This generally encompasses making small tweaks to the logo kit, and updating brochures and templates to keep the entire marketing suite consistent, contemporary, and aligned with the evolving business and client needs.

The result is a brand that continues to connect to leads and drive trust — critical in any business, and particularly essential for financial service providers.

Marketing Foundations

Yield was one of our first-ever vCMO clients back in 2015! I worked closely with James and the Yield team to develop an actionable marketing plan that was intricately linked to their business goals. We created a suite of marketing templates, process documents and system guides to give the Yield team all the tools they needed for a strategic approach to marketing beyond mere 'spray n pray' tactics.

Studio Clvr managed the strategic support and monthly implementation of the marketing plan for the first year of the rollout, after which the business had grown and was able to make its first in-house marketing hire.

We continue to have a wonderful and collaborative relationship with James and the growing Yield team and have recently worked together on a two-part article on Creating Value in your Business.
